Happy 2004! I thought it would be fitting to reflect on 2003 in some fashion but since I sometimes have a little trouble remembering what I did yesterday, I decided against the attempt. I wouldn't want to get any closer to the admissions desk at "the home" least I forget to mention something really important...such as the birth of Kieran or Morgan and Nora's engagement.
We may seem a little bleary eyed to the casual obsever these days...we have been watching the first two seasons of 24 on DVD finishing season one New Years Eve. If you aren't familiar with the show on Fox, it's a story based on the events of one full day (24 hours or 17.2 hours without commercial interruption) involving some folks in an anti-terror unit, families and the president of the US. Long about yesterday's viewing of hour 8 of the second season, I really started giggling...I'm sorry, but after this marathon viewing, it has taken on the character of The Perils of Pauline....with about as much realism as the 1940s movie as well. NO ONE goes through what these people do and remains sane. Oh right, this isn't real...only a TV show.
I guess I'd better stick to the present and only the facts, mam...it's snowing, I need to shower and dress ...and fill our empty tummies. Have a good day all.
Posted by frani at January 2, 2004 08:48 AMOh... I hadn't thought of the time problems caused by the lack of commercial interruption...
Did you pause and take a 2 minute break everytime you caught a "jump?"
Once in a while...at least your father mastered the pause and FF buttons on the remote...
Update...we now have watched 34.4 hours of 24. We are done...AND as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't match up where Season Three starts. Sigh...oh yeah...this is TV, they can do whatever they want.
