Now I feel badly for Howard Dean that he only made a third place showing in the Iowa Caucuses. Just becasue I had my reservations about his preseidential acumen didn't mean I wouldn't have taken a certain pride in his accomplishments. Actually, to have done this well is quite an accomplishment; go Howard. Oooo maybe he'll get the Vice Presidential nod... hhhhmmm...maybe that wouldn't be a good thing for the President considering Howard became Governor of VT via that route (when sitting Governor Snelling up and died)
We'll see what happens in New Hampshire next week.......
Posted by frani at January 20, 2004 08:31 AMWhat - you don't appreciate what our little Iowa party did to your guy? : )
Sorry, he came on a little strong and is a little scary. (IMHO) I saw a bumper sticker that said "I dated Dean, but married Kerry." I thought it was amusing. I ended up being a delegate to the county convention for Kerry. The caucus was exciting and fun. I'm curious about the next step, so volunteered for the next level. We'll see.
Go Tonya! LOL...actually That person you saw wasn't "our" Howard..I don't know WHO had control of his body/mouth in his "concession" speech but I suspect we'll see more of the real him again soon. hhhmm...doesn't bode well that he even HAS a Mr. Hyde side, does it?
Posted by: fran at January 21, 2004 01:41 PMActually I saw him in person a couple of times. He is really intense. He did speak to my heart, but not my head. It will be interesting to see how he does on his next hurdle. He certainly has been a big man about joking about his Iowa howl. I didn't see the David Letterman Top Ten where he did the top ten things he should do to bring his campaign back in gear. Someone told me it was pretty funny. I think it takes a brave man to ridicule oneself that way.
Posted by: Tonya at January 25, 2004 01:09 AMI saw most of the top ten list..our local news covers him rather well...snot, no duh. Anyway I think he did it very well. If I can do without seeing " the howl heard 'round the world", I'm sure he can. Don't count him out just yet.
